Hood to Coast 2015

Posted by Big Loop - August 29, 2015 - On Races and Events, what up

Another memorable event -Hood to Coast 2015

It was stormy (news report on weather)

Jeff took the first leg … a fast and painful descent down Mount Hood, via the mountain highway. Jeff killed it. It also killed Jeff (said Jeff), it was a punisher. (He recovered.)

Jeff Ben and Greg ran extra legs (4 instead of 3). And Greg finished strong (see him right as he finished in the pics below) running 6:30 pace all the way in to the finish. The group from the van arrived just after he finished. Photos on the street, the impromptu finish line (because they closed the finish on the beach due to high winds and flying parts and pieces of the finish line towers!)

Ben, Kerry, Scott, Greg A., Jeff, Tory, Marlo, (bottom row) Grant, Mike, John, Greg D. ; All fresh … about to begin a road race!

Tory has some interesting faces.

Vote for Pedro! — I said “let me get your picture.” They replied “So we can count on your vote?”

Scott’s on his way – get a selfie.

Scott arrives, … missed the team selfie!
Outside Portland between legs – everything is covered with grass.
Greg hand-off and man-hug (narrated by Tory shooting the video)

Passing the baton
Marlo … windy awesome leg 30
195 miles of seeing people spread out like this. That’s Marlo counting kills on his fingers!

Greg immediately post-finish. He came flying in … too fast for the team to group and cross together. “I don’t speak ‘slow down’!”
Finish Line – 81st place!?
Mike and John – official medal ceremony

Seaside in August – awesome, balmy and …awesome.
Seaside – beach closed due to wind and flying debris from what’s left of the finishline area.
25 hours 41 minutes ; what a hoot! Hood to Coast 2015
